Good morning, ARGonauts (and Glorkian Warriors)! With us this week is cartoonist and musician James Kochalka to talk with us about our favorite ROM hacks of classic games, his own take on hacking games, and the impressive body of work that makes up his career so far.

The news this week has us possibly looking at a resurgence of the Konami we once knew and loved, coupled with the fan service filled update to Super Bomberman R. We also look into some Switch related news with an easier way to play games vertically, and some new retro title releases to look forward to.

In the Stage of History, we look at the introduction of everyone's favorite super fighting robot Mega Man, and one of James' all time favorite handheld titles Metroid Fusion. We then earn our black belt with Karateka in Obscura. Be sure to also grab our game code giveaways for Speedrunners and Hunt: Showdown, then stick around for another round of Random Select! Who could Robert be this time?

Finish him, ARGonauts! Mortal Kombat co-creator John Tobias graces us with his presence to discuss the franchise he helped build into a pop culture sensation, as well as what went behind the development of the characters and lore we all love.

What were the main inspirations behind Mortal Kombat? How did John become friends with Ed Boon, Eugene Jarvis, and other all stars from Midway's past? What did John work on prior to Mortal Kombat? Where did the idea from Goro come from? We get into these questions, and more!

It's not just all Mortal Kombat, though! We also get into John's days after Midway with Studio Gigante and releasing Tao Feng: Fist of the Lotus, plus his involvement in the upcoming documentary Insert Coin. There's even some discussion on the Star Wars fighting game John was working on that never saw the light of day.

Hold onto your stones, ARGonauts! Returning guest and art director Rob Duenas AKA "Sketchcraft" joins us to celebrate the Power Stone franchise. We discuss what we loved about these games, what we hope to see from a hypothetical sequel, and how it ties into what Rob is doing now with Mega Visions Magazine.

The news this week takes us to a new retro gaming console that aims to play almost all of your physical titles, as well as GameStop buyout rumors running rampant. We then get into the character direction of everyone's favorite blue hedgehog in the Sonic the Hedgehog movie being made, and the return of the original Donkey Kong arcade game after all these years.

The Stage of History has us take a look at the original Power Stone which acts as a precursor to our main topic, and then we get into another Capcom fighting game gem - Project Justice. Robert keeps the Dreamcast train going in Obscura with the vertical shmup Mars Matrix. Don't forget to grab our game codes for Juicy Realm and Just Shapes & Beats, then we jump into another round of Random Select! Who could David be this week?

The show must go on, ARGonauts! Despite some major technical issues, we still break out a great show for you where we give our impressions of the E3 2018 conferences and games we saw during the convention. Plus Robert shares a bunch of interviews he got with new Intellivision president Tommy Tallarico, God of War voice actress Danielle Bisutti, and more.

The interviews don't stop there! Robert also took to Denver Comic Con where he spoke with The Monster Squad about the new documentary Wolfman's Got Nards. He also catches up with gaming host extraordinaire Jessica Chobot to close out.

After that, we talk more E3 games with friend of the show Randy Greenback of Friday the 13th. What is Randy most excited to play? Which title was a palette cleanse for him after working on one of the most violent games released recently? Who even won E3? Listen up and join in the discussion!

We're headed to E3, ARGonauts! David and Robert are joined by returning guest Will Powers to get nitty gritty into the games industry before the big week. Join us for a look into what we're expecting to be shown on the big stages, as well as the long shots we hope to see.

First we jump into some news starting off with a look back on Atari co-founder Ted Dabney who sadly passed away recently. Then there's a look at a new retro gaming show by wrestler AJ Styles, and new GameCube controllers that will be out in time for Smash Bros on Switch.

The Stage of History welcomes the only other title starring our favorite green dudes Battletoads in Battlemaniacs, and Sam Fisher's finest moment Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. Robert then goes meta with a look back on Street Fighter The Movie The Game in Obscura. Don't forget to nab our game codes for Way of the Passive Fist and Shaq Fu, then stay a bit longer for another game of Random Select! Who could Robert be this time?

ARGcast goes to MomoCon! Robert has the pleasure to interview some big names in gaming including voice actors Troy Baker, Nolan North, and Richard Epcar, legendary game designer Warren Spector, and Shovel Knight programmer Ian Flood. It's a long one, but that just means more time to hear these amazing people.

Before we jump into MomoCon, we get into some news including the announcement of new Pokemon games Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee. That's followed by talk over the new Fallout related news, and Sega officially revealing Team Sonic Racing in light of the Walmart leaks.

After the MomoCon interviews, we get into more news on game composer Tommy Tallarico becoming president of Intellivision and spearheading a new console there. Meanwhile the Atari VCS officially hit Indiegogo to take preorders, so we give our take on what we expect with that. Could it be a success, or just another Ouya?
