Fans have been loving the Harvest Moon franchise for 20 years now. What better way to celebrate than to get Graham Markay and Adam Fitch from Natsume on the show? We also have fan questions from YOU on a Nintendo Switch release, Harvest Moon 64 going portable, and our favorite husband/wife choices throughout the franchise. Watch out for those bad girls!

The top of the show gets into the latest Harvest Moon related news to celebrate its 20th anniversary with the release of A Wonderful Life on PS4. There's also the celebration of another franchise anniversary (franchiversary?) with the reveal of Starcraft: Remastered. Fight those aliens strategically, only this time in 4K!

The Stage of History this week is trimmed down with a look back on Vandal Hearts and Parasite Eve. Both games are considered RPGs, but vastly different from one another. There's also our game giveaways for Streets of Rogue and Punch Club. Plus we have another game of Random Select to play! Who is David this week?

Oh, Konami. There was a time when we all loved you and what you stood for. Join us as we look at the start of one of the biggest gaming companies during the NES era, how they continued to thrive afterwards, then careening off a cliff into public disdain.

The news at the top of the show celebrates the arrival of a Secret of Mana compilation. Too bad it's Japan only! We then look into the release of DLC for a Dreamcast 16 years later. You'll also want to listen up on the story of a Legend of Zelda fan who automated his house to run on Ocarina of Time melodies.

This week's Stage of History welcomes in an authoritative mouse in Mappy, a pink puffball in Kirby's Adventure, some photogenic pocket monsters in Pokemon Snap, and more! PLUS we have game giveaways, including one for the gorgeous Metroidvania title Dust: An Elysian Tail. You also don't want to miss on the sideshow segment that is Random Select. Boy, does it ever get crazy this time!

Ever wondered what Skyrim with stick figures would look like? All you have to do is look to the west! Zack Johnson and Kevin Simmons of Asymmetric come on the ARGcast to chat about their upcoming title West of Loathing. Get ready for a snake-wrangling good time!

At the top of the show, we get into all sorts of exciting news. Return to a simpler, more cheerful time as Capcom has announced The Disney Afternoon Collection. Now we can finally play those sequels to DuckTales and Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers again! Also, join our discussions on Turrican developer Factor 5 coming back, Yamazaki making his King of Fighters XIV debut, and Bitmap Books' NES/Famicom book officially making its release.

The Stage of History this week presents the games that coined the term "Metroidvania" - Super Metroid and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, revolutionary first person shooter Descent, and more. We also have our game giveaways that you can't miss, plus another round of Random Select. Can you guess who David is this week?

Enjoy the audio version of the PAX East 2017 panel on forgotten gaming franchises!

Want to watch the video? Say no more.

Several franchises have been getting HD makeovers recently. Even games that started in HD are getting remade into more-HD. However, it feels like some franchises have been left in the dust, never to be seen again. Perhaps it’s time to jog our memories and bring these great games back! In this panel, we’ll discuss the ongoing trend of HD-remakes, franchises we would love to see return, and what the industry can do to keep our old favorites alive or resuscitate them fully.

PANELISTS:
David Giltinan [Host, RetroZAP/ARGcast], Danny Silvers [CEO, Lantana Games], Jason Skelly Belec [Owner, Nerdfensive], Marty Sliva [IGN Senior Editor, IGN]

It's our PAX East 2017 preview! Hear what David, Robert, and special guest HipHopGamer of HOT97 are expecting and looking forward to on the show floor. There will surely be heavy hitters from both Sony and Microsoft, but we would be fools to forget the ever-growing indie game scene. Let us know what you would love to see!

The top of the show leads us into highs and lows with news stories on a streamer who finished every NES game, and the looming death of CRT technology. How do you feel about the future of classic arcade machine preservation?

We also dive into some fan favorites and all-time classics in this week's Stage of History! There's the slam-tastic NBA Jam, time-traveling Chrono Trigger, foul-mouthed Conker's Bad Fur Day, and more. PLUS we have our usual game giveaways that you won't want to miss. All that along with another game of Random Select to find out which character Robert is this week. See you at PAX East, ARGonauts!

Join David and Robert for GDC stories both past and present. Party planes? IGN tours? Call girl cabs? We got 'em all! Plus keep listening for some awesome interviews with Mutant Football League creator Michael Mendheim, plus a handful of amazingly talented indie game developers.

We also get into some Nintendo Switch talk now that the console is out. Can it possibly live up to the hype? Is there more to it than just The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild? Or are the naysayers right? Let us know your thoughts also!

Despite the fact this isn't a typical episode, we still have game giveaways worth tackling! Grab a copy of the charming Super Meat Boy clone Slime-san, or the gut-wrenching Mutant Football League.

The episode closes with some early thoughts on PAX East and what to expect. We will get more in-depth in the next episode, but be sure to check out information on David's panel on Sunday, March 12th. Don't you dare miss it, ARGonauts!
